Keshit Canyon with Kalouts Desert

The aerial photography of Keshit Canyon shows us that the canyon resembles a tree, known as the Tree of Life. Various smaller canyons, which shape the root of the tree, meet at a point where small water streams are joined to form a river. This river, which acts as the trunk of the tree, leads to the green village of Keshit, the crown of the tree. While local life depends on the water, visitors may find it salty and inedible. Palm trees are another striking feature of this area, that stand out from afar, on the ruins of the ancient village.

One of the many highlights of this tour is visiting the traces of historical hand-dug dwellings. Moreover, mud, mud brick and four-corner houses roofed with wood are what make Keshit village distinct. The antiquity of the site is estimated about 6000 years. The amazing rock formations of the canyon are what make our trekking memorable.
