Mount Tochal stands at the altitude of 3,964 meters and with 12 km long-ridge is a part of Alborz mountains which stretches east-west above north of Tehran. Mount Tochal is one of the most accessible high summits of Iran and also a great ski resort in winters. During this excursion, you can experience both ice and rock climbing in this wonderful mountain. Ice climbing requires different equipment from regular rock climbing and it provides the opportunity to climb and explore features that are not accessible in rock climbing.
In this 2 days trip, we choose the most beautiful and direct routes through the mountain. One of the most beautiful ways to reach Tochal summit is the ridge from Darabad(Tehran tour). In this unique route, climbers have to face some rocky paths and high steeps for the first hours of climbing.
Staying one night at the shelter after reaching Darabad summit can provide a safe climb to mountain Tochal. Having dinner in the shelter under the sky full of stars with a magnificent view of the city will complete your night.
In the morning we begin our hike to mount Tochal, be prepared to witness a wonderland of narrow ridges and icy crests which bring you the best viewpoints to enjoy the magnificent mountainscapes around you. Then we continue our way to Mount Chin Kalagh which has more rocky routes. On our way to Chin Kalagh peak, we will pass beautiful waterfalls and fountains. The weather is unpredictable and you have to be well prepared by wearing professional shoes, clothes, and glasses.
