Overview

Stunning Nomadic Villages

Zagros Mountain, the second highest mountain in Iran, filled with so much charm provides a natural barrier for Bakhtiari Nomads on their seasonal migration between winter and summer settlements in Khuzestan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, and Isfahan Provinces. This destination is in the middle of everything yet away from it all. Nomads settle inside the mountains and make their tents all around the Poshtkooh area where they used to settle down.

Nomads are a group of people who are migrating from one place to another with their family and belongings passing rivers, mountains, and hills. Almost most of them speak a language which is called Turkish and Persian.

Nomads are notable for their wool products such as carpets, rugs, handicrafts, bags, and clothes made by women who are wearing colorful dresses designed by gold or valuable stones or sometimes lots of cloves as their necklace. They wear several clothes consist of gathered skirts, long-sleeved garments and light scarves around their heads while half of their wavy hair is left outside. They spend a noticeable time taking care of the cattle and producing dairy products such as butter, yogurt, and meat as well.

The area is famous for its spectacular scenery. In the 2 day Zagros Nomadic Tour, see the vibrant foliage of Poshtkooh area with a private 4WD car, visit nomads and get some shut-eye in their handmade tents to experience and enjoy enticing traditional Bakhtiary way of life. Visit the museum and Eco center of Khuyeh where a group of enthusiasts run a sustainable tourism project of preserving the nomadic traditional breakfast to you. Discover the nature and local wildlife, pass the waterfall and salt mine to reach the exotic village Sar Agha Seyed. The village dates back to six hundred years ago(isfahan tour). The adobe houses are peaked one above another in a way that the roof of the lower house forms a yard for the upper one.

green tour with noimads

The package was convenient; we ever had to get to a certain area. They picked us up from our hotel.my friend and I were in Isfahan and it was FUN! Mohammad was the best guy, he was such a sweetheart! He answered all our questions and calmed down our curiosity. The group were walking slowly so we had so much time to take great picture, walk in the shadows. 100% recommended!

A must do!

It was an amazing trip. We have seen so much in two days. Thanks to our wonderful tour guides mohammad and sara, they made it unforgettable! The stories about the history were truly magnificent. They brought us to a lot of places to visit. The price is very cheap compared to other guides and it was totally worth the visit and took a dip in the water.I will always remember this experience and I cannot wait to do it again.

one of the best tpour I had! regrads to Sarah!

My fiance and I traveled to Iran for almost 30 days and we had an amazing trip! Nomad tour to Zagros mountain was a budget trip that excited both of us. The whole trip was well organized by the guide and staffed with competent, knowledgeable people with pleasant smiles on their faces. Initially we were only going for a swim as people mentioned in the comments.

very recommendable

Nomad trip was recommended in the lonely planet book and fulfilled our expectations at its best. Rasool was our contact and was very quick in replying to your messages. We appreciated that he was also present to help us with our request. We booked the nomak tour and were guided by sara. She was a lovely English guide and with a vast knowledge of the destinations. The schedule was very well prepared and we enjoyed the hike around the village. We had so much fun visiting the museum and the locals taking care of the stuff! I highly recommend this tour!

Amazing experience

Quite simply I have to thank tappersia for organizing an incredible experience that is unforgettable and I can not get enough talking about this to this day when I get home!! So much so that my family is planning to travel to Iran and try that. I did some traveling, but our driver Metti was so far the best guide I have met. His knowledge was impressive about everything from geology, culture, and the wildlife in the mountains of zagros. P.S: dive into the river and have a swim. You won't regret it!
