Kalouts Desert is located in the Shahdad county, 87 km far from the northern east of Kerman province. Kalouts Desert is one of the must-see parts of the amazing Dasht-e Lut(kerman tours).
The name Kalout comes from the words “kal”, meaning village and “Lut” which refers to the name of the desert. This UNESCO world heritage site was made 20000 years ago by the art of the nature, erosion. The beauties of the Lut desert are not definable and you will see that the Kalouts have nothing less than that. You can spend the day walking in the sands, going up from the hills and as the sun goes down you’ll see one the best scenes of your life. Then when the night comes, the sky shows its magic with the light of the stars.
This desert have some of the most magnificent natural sites.One of these sites is the Shur River. This river is the only permanent river that flows through the heart of the desert. Nebkha is another highlight of this desert. Nebkha is a kind of sand dune which comes around desert plants just like a vase. You will also get to see the egg hills which as its name shows, are egg shaped mud hills(Kerman tours).
Hills built by wind and the amazing rock formation make an overwhelming view. You will spend one of the best two days of your life since you can relax, walk on the hill dunes, enjoy the spectacular sunset and gaze at the shining stars. You’ll have a feeling like you are not in this world, because with each step you take, you face a new scenery. Try not to miss this unforgettable experience of spending two days in this marvelous desert.
