Garmsar and The Salt Cave

We start our trip from Tehran. After having the breakfast and visiting the colorful mountains on the way, we arrive at the salt mines of Garmsar which are basically caves made out of salt. When you enter these caves, the color tints on salts are the first thing that will catch your eyes. When you breathe in, you can easily notice that your lungs are enjoying the pure, fresh air. It is said that the salt layers in the cave work as a natural filter for the air coming inside the cave, creating a unique atmosphere with a pleasant temperature. In fact, there are people with breathing problems who would come to these salt mines just for one reason: taking in some fresh air.

Another highlight of this tour is the historic village of Padeh(Tehran Tour). We will walk through the historical texture of the village where we will also visit the remaining of the old castle, the historic bathhouse (hammam), and the ice house of this desert village.

We will also go to the Garmsar city itself where we visit the historic water reservoir of Garmsar. This day will be packed with visiting numerous sights, thus to regain some energy, we will also make some grilled potatoes along with a cup of smoked tea on fire (known as “Chai Atishi”) which is certainly the favorite way of preparing tea for many Iranians.
