Tochal Mountain Climbing (Tehran Tour)

In this 1 day tour, you will be hiking all the way to the peak of Tochal mountain. We start our hike from Darband in Tehran and hike all the way to one of the most famous mountain shelters in the country, Shirpala. On our way, we will also pass the beautiful mountain village of Pas-e Qaleh village. While camping at the Shirpala shelter at 2800m altitude, you will enjoy your dinner with an astonishing view of the city of Tehran. There are numerous rooms plus a number of restaurants and cafes surrounding the shelter.

After that, we will hike towards our last stop, Amiri shelter, before ascending to the peak. After a short break in Amiri shelter, we will be ready to conquer the 3964m peak of Tochal. You will admire nature’s beauty while passing by waterfalls, fountains and scenic views on our hike to the peak. Tochal is mostly dry and warm in Summer. However, in Winter it is usually covered with heavy snows and the temperature can fall as low as -30 centigrade.

On our way back we will also visit Bam-e Tehran, the famous mountain park in the north of Tehran which is also a quite nice place to observe the urban life. Our final stop before finishing our tour will be a visit to the Sa’dabad Complex, the massive palace built and inhabited by Qajar and Pahlavi kings.

lovely Tochal

It was an excellent experience that I have remembered for all my life, (now 53), and it had impacted fantastically my prospect of Iran. Sohrab well informed us about the path, downs, and ups but constant climbing to the summit and all the way down.

a great hiking experience

hiking under the storm. From wet socks to slippy trails. our guide was a professional hiker he knew all the ins and outs. A great adventure with good friends and endless stories to share. We will certainly come back again!

Celebrating New Year 2019 on Tochal mountain

for me it was a once in lifetime. and I didn't make it! My wife did, and she was very happy. In the meantime, we stayed at the shelter waiting for them. What a beautiful landscape of a mountain top! An amazing experience I can tell our grandchildren someday. It's all worth it!
