Vartun Hot Sulphur Springs is located close to a desert village with the same name. It’s truly miraculous how this indefinite source of water has survived for hundreds of years in the middle of bare, deserted land. It is said that even the great Shah Abbas of the Safavid empire came here to benefit from the hot springs’ healing effects on the skin.
There are still some remainings of the original bathhouse, however, most of the structures have been rebuilt or added later to facilitate the growing number of visitors. Three natural springs feed the main public bath all year round, you can choose to enjoy the hot water in the public pools or use one of the many private showers in the complex.
Vartun Hot Sulphur Springs has been undergoing some major renovations in the past years. Currently, some of the services offered in this complex include cottages to rent, restaurant and a supermarket.
We normally start our tour at 9:00 form Isfahan, the trip usually takes around 1:30 hours to reach our destination. After settling in the Vartun Hot Sulphur Springs complex, we use the hot water pool/showers (based on availability and your preferences) before walking on the cliffs close to the springs to enjoy the eye-catching views of the area. After having lunch and relaxing in the complex, we start our journey back to Isfahan in the afternoon.
