I’m bringing my Car or Motorcycle

You will have to purchase additional passage for your vehicle. You must ship your vehicle 1-2 days in advance, fill out all the paperwork and pay a transportation fee based on your car class, weight and height.

I’m bringing my bicycle

The weight of your bicycle will be deducted from your baggage allowance and you will have to pay a 1EUR/Kg fee for any extra cargo you bring on board.

Visas, Check-in’s and Paperwork

  • Check to see if you need a visa to enter Dubai or Kuwait
  • You must check-in at the dock 4 hours before your departure, like international flights
  • Depending on air and sea conditions, departures may be delayed or canceled. Full refunds or reschedules are available in case of cancellations.
  • Bring breakfast and a book because you will be waiting for 4 hours after check-in, starting at 5-6am.

Travel Notes

  • There are no ferries to Qatar, Oman, or India.
  • Book your tickets 1-6 days before your departure date to avoid cancellations due to changing sea conditions.
  • You will not be able to exchange Iranian Rials in the UAE or Kuwait.
  • There are no money exchanges in Iranian ports, but you can usually change money in city centers in the bazaar.
  • Bring earplugs, eye shades, and a blanket to sleep on the way.
  • If your car is bigger than allowed sizes you need to hire a cargo ship to take your vehicle.

Bandar Abbas (Shahid Bahonar Port)

No car? Get a taxi, since the center of Bandar Abbas is 10-12 Km from the port. Bahanor also hosts a large naval base so be sure to follow all entrance signs in order to avoid unwanted attention.

Bandar Lengeh (Lengeh Port)

A sleepy port town with a big history, the city doesn’t hold a lot for keep traveler attention

Sharjah (Port Khalid)

The passenger terminal is located in the back of the customs office. If you don’t have a car, check in your luggage there. There is an ATM at this port.

Dubai (Port Rashid)

There is a big open-air bus station nearby and a small supermarket nearby.

Yes, there are ferries from Bandar Lengeh to Dubai on sundays and wednesdays at 9am and the return trips are made on mondays and thursdays at 10am.

You must have paid your visa fee and collected your visa prior to your arrival in Iran. You can apply  online to guarantee your application.

Yes, there are trips both ways from Khorramshahr to Kuwait city.
